Honda cars in India halted for 12 days during the COVID pandemic
Honda Cars India on a weekday has declared that it is evolving to keep shutdown at its Rajasthan-sited manufacturing factory by about ten days following the second outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Japanese car manufacturer has dogged to shut manufacturing at its Tapukara-based plant for 12 days commencing from May 7 in an attempt to curtail the spread of coronavirus infections.

The production at the engineering plant will be stopped from May 7 to May 18, as stated by Honda officials. The car manufacturer will recommence engineering maneuvers from May 19.
The annual upkeep block termination was initially programmed for the middle of May 2021.
HCIL's Tapukara factory has a mounted production size of 1.8 lakh units per year. The establishment's personnel employed in corporate and zonal headquarters for all roles have been requested to work from home. Only some co-workers involved in running necessary facilities that entail physical attendance for a few critical events are coming to the workplace claimed Honda.
Honda is not the first car manufacturer to take such actions amid the mounting positive cases of Covid-19. Prior to this week, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) too declared advancing the annual up keep factory shutdown to May.
Other automakers like Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp, MG Motor India, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), and Suzuki Motorcycle India also have previously declared a short-term suspension of engineering maneuvers following the surge in Covid-19 cases.
